Our PBL in Term 3

What is the significance in the 21st Century of our Cultural stories?

First we brainstormed what culture is and came up with lots of ideas. Culture is about traditions like holidays, food and stories.
Then we thought about our own culture and talked to our parents about our traditions and heritage. I wrote a post about my family and things we like to do.
In Literacy we read and discussed myths and legends from around the world then we concentrated on Maori legends. I read hatupatu and the bird-women I also read how maui slowed the sun I retold the legend of the hydra in my own words.

We made a performance about the story Battle of the Mountains. Some students wrote the script, some students took on the job of making all the artwork, some worked hard on organising the music and others took on the role of bringing the story alive with dance and drama.

Reflection:
</ For our production I contributed by doing drama. I had the role of one of the kids.

I think the show might impact on others by being funny because it had some comedy.

What I learned about working with others was that you get better ideas in a group.

is fortnite the new catchy game

In reading this week we read an article from Kiwi kids News about Fortnite. I had to summarise the text. This is my follow up task:

Main ideas:

1. Fortnite is a new game that teenagers are getting addicted to.
2. Parents are worrying and complaining about their kids because they want to play everyday all day.
3. some Tenagers are spending all of ther money on fortnite.
4. Set aside some gaming time so play fortnite 1 2 3 or 4 hours it might help and do some chores for money and maybe you could buy some in game purchases.

What do you think about fortnite?
